Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cold and bad quality I use this jacket to get to and from school in northern Alberta. Temperatures haven't even reached -10°c yet, and I am literally freezing any time I wear this jacket (even with additional layers underneath). I have been wearing this jacket for about a month and already the zipper is malfunctioning, the cuffs in the inner layer are pilling, the stuffing comes out of the seams and fabric of the under layer. For a jacket of such a high price you would expect quality, however not in this case. This jacket would be useful in the spring and fall, when weather is above 0°c, and the fabric is also very waterproof. It however is definitely not warm enough for winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this coat! I had this coat before in white, and absolutely loved it! It did get dirty pretty easily, so when I washed it, the outer shell cracked on the inside, making it look like there was a stain on the outside. TNF was awesome and replaced my coat, but didn't sell white anymore. They offered me a light grey coat and I am thrilled with it. I live in the south so it doesn't get too cold here. My favorite aspect, is that I use the outer shell as a raincoat, and the inner "line" as a jacket. I have also enjoyed both layers, depending on the weather, when we go skiing out west in the spring. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars, and not 5, is because I haven't washed the outer shell of the grey coat to see if the same cracking happens.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT waterproof and is only good for light rain in the city After talking to the staff in the Vancouver store they suggested I buy this for a trip to Iceland. First day in Reykjavik was cold windy and raining the jacket kept the wind out but by the time I got back to the hotel I was cold and damp. Second day in Reykjavik it was still cold and rainy after 4 hours I returned to the hotel feeling damp. I took the liner out and noticed damp spots on the liner, I looked at the inside of the rain jacket and noticed it was wet. It LEAKED, the fabric the jacket is made of is water resistant NOT waterproof. The cuffs wick water back up the inside of the sleeve and get the cuffs of the liner wet. I ended up replacing this jacket with a waterproof jacket from Icewear and using my Eddie Bauer down jacket as a liner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm & Cozy I have been wanting Thermoball jacket for a while now and low and behold I found something better. THIS!! This wonderful functional combination gives me the flexibility to stay warm and dry, just warm or just dry and look stylish. I was worried about the fit but look at the chart, take your measurements and you will be fine. The Thermoball insert zips in and out easy. The weight of this 3-in-1 is not so heavy that you dread wearing it just to stay cozy as a bed bug on a heated blanket. If you are on the fence about this product (like I was) jump off and get it. You will be glad you did when the temps drop, the snow piles up and the power goes out this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Medium Weight Winter Coat I needed a coat that I could throw on over hoodies and long sleeve t-shirts for daily use in the winter. I walk my kids to school and wanted something casual but still classic and a little fitted. It needed this coat to compliment the bulk of a hoodie not accentuate it like the puffer coats do. I love this brand because the quality continues to be steady. I have experienced the quality of so many of my favorite brands decline so heavily over the last decade. The North Face is thankfully not one of those brands. I would absolutely recommend this coat for daily casual use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality! I bought this for a light weight Winter coat. I hate Winter because of the bulky clothes and was told by a family member to purchase this because it's perfect, keeps you warm and not bulky at all. I tried it on when it arrived and was instantly warm. Can't wait to put it to the test in the very cold Michigan weather. I purchased this in the black.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! I was looking for an all around winter jacket. One to play in the snow, ski etc. The only reason I gave this jacket 4 stars is because it hasn't snowed since I got it, so haven't worn it. I used the fit guide and other reviews to determine sizing. I ended up ordering a S and M to try both. The fit guide said M and I ended up keeping the S. For reference, I am 5'4 125 lbs, athletic build. The S fits great and still plenty of room to layer/move around. It is long enough to cover your back side and the sleeves are plenty long. I got the Deep Garnet Red color and it pretty!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Odd proportions First ordered a medium, but the sleeves were way too long. Sleeve length was correct on the small, but the rest of the jacket was clearly too tight. Seems to be difficult to find a jacket that has room for layering without having a sloppy fit, and I'm not sure who TNF jackets are cut for!
