The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely in love with this jacket I purchased this jacket about three weeks from TNF store and I am absolutely in love. I can't stand big puffy coats so this jacket is perfect. It's thin but amazingly very warm. I got an extra large because I like to layer in the winter but I haven't even had to layer yet since it keeps me so warm. The only part of me that is ever cold is the parts that can't aren't covered. It's perfect for the rain also. The droplets just roll off and never soak into the coat. I love how I will be able to wear it in every season. It looks great too. I've gotten so many compliments on it. If you're thinking about getting it just do it. You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I Would Have Bought One Years Ago! I bought one of these for my husband last year and it looks great on him. Then I noticed on a recent trip how lightweight it was and how pliable it was. Perfect for traveling, and home of course. So we got home and I ordered one for myself. So happy I did, it's perfect and I wish I hadn't wasted money on other jackets. This is the one to have. I've worn it in 4 degree temperatures with winds, snow, and general traveling. I ordered it one size up so that I could sweaters under it and not feel too confined, and it's perfect. A size down might have worked too. These two pieces are perfect so all sorts of travel around the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket Ever! I absolutely LOVE this jacket. I ordered this jacket online, and I have to admit that I was a little worried to find out how light the jacket was. I wanted something warm to wear to NY on our vacation (but also liked that I can separate the jackets and have 3 jackets in one). There happened to be a nasty Nor'easter that hit while we were there. It started out pouring rain, and then the temperature dropped and it changed to snow. The jacket was waterproof and very warm. I was never cold while wearing the jacket. It was also extremely windy while we were in NY and the jacket was windproof. I couldn't be happier with this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm in love! After a couple weeks of wear, I am in love with this jacket! I was a little skeptical when it arrived because it is so incredibly light, however after wearing it on the slopes, the wind and water proof shell did exactly that and the Thermoball technology is so warm! The fit is exactly as stated, so there are no worries there. I was wasn't completely sold on this color originally, but it is actually a little bit darker than it looks in the picture and I have received so many compliments on it. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints what so ever and am so glad I bought this coat!!! I don't see myself having to by a new coat anytime soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat, but not warm enough for northeast winter I bought this coat intending it to be a 3 season coat in Philadelphia, but was finding that it was not warm enough for the chilly fall nights. While it is warm, the liner is extremely thin and you may be better off with the Thermoball Snow or Clementine as they have thicker liners and would keep you warmer through the northeast fall and winters. Depending on where you live, this jacket is lightweight and warm enough that it would be a perfect 3 season coat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not waterproof I bought this for an trip to Iceland in Oct. The weather was cold and rainy (beautiful country though!). I had to wear a polartec type jacket and vest underneath + a thermal shirt and sweater to stay warm. The hood was nice, and fit over a knitted cap. Coat kept me dry on days with light rain, but on a day when it rained harder (NOT pouring rain) it was soon pretty damp inside. I was never cold, maybe all my extra layers helped though. This jacket will be fine for winters in NM, but I'd hate for this to be my winter jacket in a place that actually got cold and wet. On the plus side, once I was back inside a warm room, the jacket dried fairly quickly once I took it off. This jacket *is not* water proof. If you need a waterproof jacket, buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Waterproof without the "stiff" feel or noise. I love this layering masterpiece. I was tired of the crinkly waterproof jackets that make a lot of noise - you know what I'm taking about. Purchased this because I needed a white coat for football games (I'm an avid college football fan with season tickets and we do themes). When I took it out of the box, I thought North Face sent me the wrong coat - thinking it was way too soft to be waterproof. How wrong I was! I tailgated in this coat for 6 hours in the pouring rain and every inch covered by this coat was DRY! It rained for 70% of the game and I remained dry and comfortable. Don't hesitate to buy this coat!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Warmth My friend purchased this jacket first and I was able to try it on before purchasing. I would never have purchased this jacket without trying it on first. I would normally have purchased a large but found that the xlarge actually fit better. The xlarge gives me the extra room needed to wear layers underneath it. My only complaint is that the liner is not secured enough. I find that putting it on the sleeves of the liner tend to stick out beyond the end of the jacket. I have to pull it back from the inside of the jacket to get it to be sleeve length. I have no complaint for its warmth and protection from the wind and rain. I have already worn it several times.

I purchased a North Face Carto Triclimate jacket in a medium. It fits except the sleeves are tight. Does North Face have another Triclimate jacklet with roomier arms? Thanks

Asked by: Sally E
Hi Sally E, good question! Unfortunately, all the Triclimates are cut pretty much the same; however, the sleeve material on The North Face Women's Motivation Thermoball Jacket does have some elastane giving it some stretch. Follow the link below if you want to check that jacket out, I hope this helps!
