Just What I Was Looking ForI was surprised that a large was the best fit for me, as I am 5'3'' and 130lbs. A medium also fit, but it was a little more snug than I was hoping for. (I tried them on in the store and then ordered online) A lot of people say they don't like the style as it makes you look "pregnant" but I could care less! I love that it is wider at the bottom as it is a pet peeve of mine when jackets become sausages when you try to sit in them without unzipping them. It also kept me warm in NYC in the winter, which is tough as I am always cold. Overall I am very happy with it, and would suggest it to anyone on the smaller side, as I said I ordered a large and I am pretty small!

Don't love it- Update from previous reviewI should have waited to write my review, as I have changed my mind about the transarctic mama parka. I don't love it as I thought I did, especially dont love it for over $300. I wore it once with the tags on and it just wasn't warm enough in temps below 35 degrees. This factor plus the A-line design at the bottom, it made me feel fat and wider than I am. It's not flattering at all like the picture shows on the model. The coat poofs out A LOT at the bottom in front and back, making you look 10 pounds heavier or possibly wearing a maternity coat. Very self conscious. I really wanted to keep this coat because it was light, comfortable and the hood was adorable, but back it goes.

My Favorite NF Product!!Living in Michigan, I have to say that I'm a huge winter coat snob. Pair that with living on a huge college campus where I have to walk crazy lengths, I pretty much have no choice but to be selective about my winter coats. Out of all the NF products I own, this is my favorite. It is completely worth the investment and the sleekest (yet warmest?!) winter coat I own. The fur is great quality and I especially love how it can be removed if you want. I wish I could personally gift this jacket to everyone who lives in colder climates!

Exactly what i neededJust came from NYC and this coat got me through the weekend. Through cold temperatures. 50 during day, 30 during night, and rainy weather. It's stylish too so I wore it day and night. The only real con is that it was a little tight around the waist, I went with a small since the medium was too big for me. Overall it worked great for the city.

Comfy and cozyBeen looking for a coat like this for a while, I'm 5'3 130 lbs and the small is a perfect fit! Not to bulky and not too thin to keep warm in the winter. I was a little hesitant with the fit at first, because it is a bell shape coat ( looks like a dress) but am absolutely in love with it as it flatters my figure and can wear as everyday or even for dressier occasions. This coat keeps me warm in 30 degree temps so far, haven't had much colder temps yet.

Love this lightweight NF coat!!I LOVE The North Face Transarctic Mama Parka ! I wanted a LIGHTWEIGHT but WARM winter puffer coat for NYC, with a hood, that was also waterproof for snow and freezing rain days. I hesitated to buy this coat because of the exaggerated A-line design at the bottom (it's a little more poofy when you try it on in person) but I kept going back to this coat because it was just so comfortable and cute. I bought it in Black and size Large, which I normally wear in coats. Fits very nicely, with extra room to wear sweaters. The fur hood is pretty nice quality as well, the fur is a lot softer and nicer than most of the coats I saw in department stores. So far I've only worn it in 30 degree weather and it kept me warm and protected from the wind. Hoping it's worth the investment!

Buy it Now!!I bought this coat for my 94 year old mom who wears gloves and a jacket inside all year round!! Keeping her warm outside especially below 50 degrees was nearly impossible! With this coat she is toasty and tolerates even 29 degrees like today so well!! Thanks!! As an aside, she is rather prissy and thinks it is very cute!

Unless your are tiny look elsewhereThere is a "bustle" in the back of the coat that adds 20 pounds. Couple that with the high waist maternity look. May suggestion, don't buy unless you can try on before purchasing or you are SUPER skinny!
