The North Face Women's Ventrix Hoodie is designed for pushing vertical on technical hiking and climbing routes. This lightweight active layer features 80g of synthetic Ventrix™ insulation that was developed for exceptional breathability, movement-mirroring stretch, and wet weather performance. The stretchy face fabric also enhances freedom of movement and is reinforced through the forearm for extra durability while navigating rocky terrain. A matrix of pinhole vents at the upper back and under the arms open up as you're fast on the move and allow excess body heat to escape. The slim fit keeps out of your way while moving fast or wearing a harness, and makes it a comfortable midlayer under a shell if extreme weather hits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes! I bought this as a gift and both people that I got them for absolutely love it! It keeps you warm, it is ultra light and it feels like you've got your favorite blanket on. The fit is true to size but it is supposed to fit snug. You can use it on its own or under a shell for added protection since it isn't waterproof (although it sheds water well). We have used it in 60-degree temperatures all the way down to 35-degree (with only a t-shirt on) and have felt comfortable. The design is very stylish and I have gotten lots of compliments them. The jacket has been used as a casual jacket, for hiking, and for skiing. It performed great in all three instances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket ROCKS I live in Colorado where the weather often changes dramatically in two seconds. It can be really hard to dress accordingly for the weather. However, this jacket does it all! It's as warm as my Patagonia puffy jacket, but way more breathable and better at stopping the wind. As an avid hiker and backpacker, I am always looking for ways to pack lighter and clothes that are more versatile, and this jacket is perfect. No more stopping every ten minutes to shed layers or put layers on - with a warm but breathable jacket like this one, I save a lot of time and weight. North Face did a great job!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy I bought this jacket about a month ago and it's awesome. It has the nice perforations that make it more breathable when I'm moving but seal up when I'm still so it keeps me warm when it needs to. It's super lightweight which is nice. It does have slightly longer arms cause people wear it climbing, so the sleeve length is made to accommodate that. But the plus side of that is the end of the sleeves fold nicely on their own so they don't seem too long. I got the blue (sorry don't remember the exact color name) version and it is such a pretty color as well. I also love how big the pockets are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for the colder season! This jacket definitely lived up to my expectations! I've worn it hiking a 14'er (14,000 foot mountain, for those not familiar) in Colorado in late October, with a windchill in the single digits without feeling cold at all. I only needed a thicker long sleeve underneath it. What I especially love about it is that it does indeed breathe with me, so I don't get sweaty or clammy when I get warm. Previously I've experienced that I've had to take off layers a lot while hiking, but this is not the case with this jacket. I would recommend the hooded version, as the hood forms a perfect seal around your face, warding off any cold winds. The jacket also works great as casual wear in colder weather. An overall versatile jacket great for any outdoors activity in colder weather!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and warm, moderately breathable I bought this to use as a cold weather running jacket because of it's supposed breathability, but it's not on part with other jackets like the Arc'teryx Gaea or Ryze for that purpose. The Ventrix is very comfortable, lightweight, and quite warm for the weight, but doesn't breathe as well as the reviews say, in my opinion. It's a fantastic option for moderate level activities, but not so much for high aerobic output like running. But I'm keeping it for general use, walking the dog, etc. The fit is very nice and the hood is fantastic. Overall has a very good feel to it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fitted jacket My wife has a difficult time finding jackets that fit her properly. Many are too boxy or have too much room in the body section but smaller sizes tends to leave her short on the arms. This slim fit jacket fits perfectly. The jacket has a great outer shell which deflects rain and barrier to the cold. The inside is soft and warm. There is plenty of room in the pockets and she likes the attached hood. While North Face isn’t the cheapest brand, we have found the extra money is worth it for their quality, durability and style. I also shopped all around looking for this particular coat and Mountain Steals has the best price by far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ventrix is ready for any cold weather adventure! I bought myself, my husband and my brother this jacket, that's how much I love it. This jacket is perfect for Portland winters, it breaks the wind, and keeps you warm when the temps are frigid. My favorite feature of this jacket is the deep chest pocket, you can keep a small trail map in it! When you start to heat up on a run, the jacket's ventilation keeps you comfortable and as long as your baselayer wicks moisture, you can stay sweat-free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST. PURCHASE. EVER. This jacket, by far, has to be the best purchase I have made in a long time. I knew about this jacket (ventrix material) because my boyfriend had purchased one last year and I would wear his all the time. I ordered the size M color black and it fits great! I would recommend this jacket for cooler weather but also colder (-20 to 30) if you layer properly. I took it camping in -30 (with layers underneath) and it was perfect for when it started to rain/snow. It also is a great looking jacket so I like to wear it casually as well. Overall, it is super comfortable and does the job! Definitely worth the purchase.
