ThermaCapture Radiant Heat Technology is a proprietary reflective coating that we apply to a range of surfaces. By reflecting radiant heat back to your body that is otherwise lost, this extremely lightweight coating turns that surface into a very efficient heat reflector, amplifying warmth without the excess weight or bulk of added, conventional insulating materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NeoAir X-lite In the fall of 2012, I bought the X-lite sleeping pad. It was to take the place of my regular NeoAir which I had been using for several years. I wanted something that would handle lower temperatures as well as being lighter for my upcoming Appalachian Trail Thru-hike. I started my thru-hike on 3/21/13 & finished on 8/19/13. The pad held up wonderfully. Kept me warm when the temps got down into the low teens. It was the best pad I've ever used while backpacking. I've been using the pad on multiple backpack trips since the AT hike. It still works like a charm. Thank you for making such great sleeping pad.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small and light, yes, but more trouble than it's worth I love how much smaller, lighter, and packable the NeoAir XLite is compared to my ProLite Plus. But it takes a lot more breaths to inflate, the material is naturally thinner so I'm constantly worried about punctures, and after a dozen uses, the seams have started to come undone causing these large bubbles to form in the base of the pad. I'll definitley be going back to the ProLite after my current trip wraps up. It's just more reliable, despite its hulk. But if you're just going on a short trip where space and weight is important, than the XLite should serve you well. It is very comfortable. And long as those bubbles don't start appearing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great in terms of size and wieght, but so fragile... We've been using xlite (L and ) with my gf, mainly for cycling trips, for 3 years, with couple of Hilleberg tents (Unna, Nallo 3GT, Allak). We were super happy at the begining, especially for incredible lightness and decent warmth. But from trip to trip our mattresses started to lose the air during the night (both of them). No idea, what's the reason for that, no visible punctures, I checked them in the bathtub twice - no bubbles at all. I've checked the valve as well and my idea is that there are some small punctures - too small to be visible (no bubbles noticed), but responsible for loosing 50% of the air during the night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Comfortable and Light. I waited for almost 9 months for this mattress to become available, and I'm glad I didn't settle for anything else. The NeoAir X-Lite has helped me with my best ever backcountry sleep. I sleep on my side, and this mattress has plenty of depth to allow my bony hips to float above the ground, something I've never found in another Thermarest product. The R-value is serious, and I noticed it as soon as I sat down on the pad- as though there was a separate heat source between my body and the ground. The most pack-able, lightweight sleeping pad I've owned, I recommend this product to anyone serious about low-bulk, lightweight comfort.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pad is Flappy Floppy Slidy Crinkly I have owned for two years, fairly heavy use (60 nights or so). Pad does not grip tent floor. Slides around like it is on ice. If the tent is on any sort of slope (I emphasize ANY), I will be sliding in that direction. From day one it has deflated after about 5 hours of sleeping on it. Bathtub tested for leaks without any luck. Late night pee break turns into late night hyperventilation trying to blow this thing back up. Pad is crinkly too. Crinkly with noises that is. Overall, not too thrilled by it. It does the job for now. I will try Sea to Summits new line of pads once I can cough up the dough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - Make it WIDER. Best ultralight matress I have had. AGREE with other reviewers. PLEASE MAKE THIS IN A REGULAR LENGTH - WIDE. I am 6'2" and 240 and the length of 72" is just fine for me. I do not want the extra weight of the long wide version. But the pad is too narrow and I am not even a back sleeper but a side sleeper. It would be well worth the weight to make a 25" wide pad at 72" length. Only competitor is exped and I'd rather stay with the NeoAir.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light and compact I bought this on a 'going light' kick and I am so please that I did. It is about a third of the weight of my old matt, is much smaller yet it is more comfortable. I am 6'5 and I have found the regular fine for camping trips over the summer. I am a side sleeper and if a matt is too firm I will always wake up with dead limbs- I have had no such problems with the xlite. I know some people have said it is noisy as you move around on it but I don't think it is particularly noisy. A bit crinkly perhaps but it is not a problem. I looked at the MKI xlite in a store and the new materials on my MKII certainly seem better. I love this mattress!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Mattress, Made In The USA I have only used this mattress twice so far, but I am in love. I bought the regular size NeoAir XLite and it is perfect for my 5'10" 210 lb frame. I was worried about the mummy design, but I stay on it just fine. I have owned a number of different brands and types of mattresses. I've seen them leak, I've felt the ground through them, I've woken up with my arms paralyzed because of the discomfort, and I've felt the cold ground creep through the inner airspace. This mattress has defeated all its foes in a 12 ounce package smaller than a 1L Nalgene. It's warm, extremely comfortable, easy to inflate, easily adjustable, unbelievably light, and clearly built to modern, made-in-the-USA standards. I'm happy to give this mattress a 5 star rating based on my limited use experience, and I will update as I use this mattress in the years to come!
