Product Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small and light, yes, but more trouble than it's worth I love how much smaller, lighter, and packable the NeoAir XLite is compared to my ProLite Plus. But it takes a lot more breaths to inflate, the material is naturally thinner so I'm constantly worried about punctures, and after a dozen uses, the seams have started to come undone causing these large bubbles to form in the base of the pad. I'll definitley be going back to the ProLite after my current trip wraps up. It's just more reliable, despite its hulk. But if you're just going on a short trip where space and weight is important, than the XLite should serve you well. It is very comfortable. And long as those bubbles don't start appearing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to beat Hard to beat for the weight to comfort ratio, as well as packability and warmth too. It's a lightweight backpacking pad, so I keep my comfort expectations in line with the activity, but I'd recommend this to anyone I liked in a heartbeat! It keeps me considerably warmer than thinner pads, and it's got a nice loft to it that is more comfortable than others. It made a bit of noise in the beginning, like opening a bag of Doritos in the middle of the night, but that's gone away considerably and I hardly hear anything at all anymore. If there were a glamping version it might be an inch or two wider, but if you're counting weight this one is fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light and compact I bought this on a 'going light' kick and I am so please that I did. It is about a third of the weight of my old matt, is much smaller yet it is more comfortable. I am 6'5 and I have found the regular fine for camping trips over the summer. I am a side sleeper and if a matt is too firm I will always wake up with dead limbs- I have had no such problems with the xlite. I know some people have said it is noisy as you move around on it but I don't think it is particularly noisy. A bit crinkly perhaps but it is not a problem. I looked at the MKI xlite in a store and the new materials on my MKII certainly seem better. I love this mattress!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and easy to inflate [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this product due to the light weight and high R-value. It is not as light/small as the Thermarest's Uberlite, but I wanted something that would keep me warm in case of cold. I have not had the chance to test it in the cold since it is summer, but it is comfortable and not too noisy. I also like that they offer a women's version since I get to save some size/weight because it is shorter. The valve also makes it easier to inflate since air only goes in and not out - you don't need to rush to inflate it or cap it, and it deflates quickly with the turn of the neck of the valve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Compact and light, but I keep finding small leaks This is a compact and light mattress, yet very comfortable when working. The problem, however, is that I keep finding new leaks around the seams of the mattress and I can never seem to get a full night of sleep without having to refill it with air. This is the second Therm-a-rest NeoAir I have owned, and they both had the same problem. This happens even though I have treated my NeoAirs as good as I possibly can. The one I currently have is a replacement unit for the first NeoAir I had. I have used it on several trips in Norway and Alaska and bought the NeoAir because I needed a light weight mattress, but I suspect the material on this mattress is to weak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, Luxurious Sleep! I took this camping in Big Sur last month and it was great, save for a few things - which are sort of exactly why I bought it, so I'm conflicted. It's a 66" pad, and I am a 67" woman - I thought this would be fine, but my toes dangling at the bottom did bother me. Make sure you're okay with this (or put your pack under your feet, maybe.) The other thing is that because it's more human-shaped than rectangle-shaped, it saves weight, but it is quite narrow - could be a little too narrow for me at the shoulders, because I'm a not-small 67" woman. HOWEVER, the sleep was great, I did not find it rustly/crackly at all, and as a side sleeper, my hip bones FINALLY did not hit the ground. Hallelujah.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Comfortable and Light. I waited for almost 9 months for this mattress to become available, and I'm glad I didn't settle for anything else. The NeoAir X-Lite has helped me with my best ever backcountry sleep. I sleep on my side, and this mattress has plenty of depth to allow my bony hips to float above the ground, something I've never found in another Thermarest product. The R-value is serious, and I noticed it as soon as I sat down on the pad- as though there was a separate heat source between my body and the ground. The most pack-able, lightweight sleeping pad I've owned, I recommend this product to anyone serious about low-bulk, lightweight comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sets the Bar I've had 50 or so nights on this pad so far. First morning my dog popped it with her claws which are sharp as. So the patch kit that comes with also gets 5 stars (I've since purchased more and used on dry bags/jackets) and the pad is still air tight. For me it takes about 20-25 puffs to blow it up tight, and then I let a bit of air out when I lay down. I have a long, and I can fit it inside a standard nalgene. Sounds a little crinkly, and these days I put a sleeping bag liner over it when the dog is around to protect it. I'd be careful if laying it out to cowboy/girl camp in the gravel/sticks as the material feels kind of thin.
