Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad I have used this pad for over a year in all 4 seasons for both boyscout camping and backpacking. Just used it for a weeks long hike in the White Mountains of NH. My pad and 45 degree bag fit in my sleeping bag compartment of my backpack. I have used this pad for over 40 nights and have had no issues with sleeping on my side. I have used it down to -2 in the winter and it worked fine, no cold spots. The pad will inflate on its own when it is warm. It does take time to inflate when it is below 20. Otherwise I never had an issue with it. I have 3 of these pad for my two kids and myself. It rolls in half and takes up less space in the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Durable of the Lightweights I've used many many sleeping pads over the years as a guide. I've tried the gimmicky pads, the ultra light pads, basic pads. This pad is hands down the best option out there, if you are serious about having lightweight gear that will hold up to the real abuses of spending long amounts of time in the backcountry. It has kept me warm and comfortable in quinzhee's on backcountry ski trips in Montana, in tents high in the alpine tundra of southwest Colorado, under tarps in the rugged and soaking wet Appalachians of North Carolina, and it's even kept me afloat for some lounging on zero days on lakes and rivers. After all of this abuse I haven't had a single complaint, or even a single leak. Don't waste money on other brands or pads, Thermarest really is the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Valve continues to fail at altitude (3rd Mattress) If I didn't consistently encounter this issue I'd swear by this product for the rest of my hiking days. But at altitude, the valve has failed across 3 different mattresses. I've tested to ensure there's no leaks, but the problem has persisted. Also, and this may be a smaller gripe, but getting it back into the sack that they provide is quite difficult if you can't kneel on the pad to push the air out. 10/10 when the valve works, but as anyone who's spent a night sleeping on cold snow without a pad knows, no air, no sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, reasonable weight, good insulation I use both the women's and torso length version of the Prolite Plus. For me, it's a happy medium between the thinner regular Prolite and heavier car camping style models. The torso length (short) model with clothes under my feet is perfect for camping on the PCT -- just got back from a couple nights out. If I could change anything I'd find a way to keep everything the same but shave off a couple ounces. Special edition? Love it either way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, comfortable, noise-free sleeping pad This is the only fairly lightweight insulated sleeping pad I can sleep on comfortably. I'm a light sleeper and all the other lightweight pads I've tried are too noisy for me (similar to rolling over a bag of chips). This one is noise free! It also feels comfortable and durable - it hasn't failed on me yet after about 40-50 nights. Lastly, the self-inflation mechanism is helpful. When would I give it 5 stars? - When it's easier to put the mat back in the stuff sack. Options: bigger stuff sack (with compression straps perhaps)? easier way to deflate to the maximum? - When the pack size is a bit smaller; it's on the big side. If Therm-a-Rest would come with a new version with these improvements I would definitively upgrade!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Uncomfortable, very little padding at all I will preface this by saying the product was overall of solid, durable quality which is the only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1. I'm pretty surprised by the amount of reviews raving over how comfortable this thing is. I used this sleeping pad for an entire fieldwork season of around 3 months in a fairly wide range of terrain and it honestly doesn't even feel like you're laying on anything. I pumped it as full as I could get it and time and time again I'd lay down and my back would be pressed against the hard ground. I used it in a hammock and it was blissful, but every other night I felt as though I was laying on concrete. I would never recommend this to anyone simply because it is completely ineffective. Well made, but ineffective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed. I researched this mattress heavily and want to help others the same way I was helped by reading the reviews. This mattress pad was light weight, easy to set up, warm and comfortable. Other reviews warned that it will not be as comfortable as your bed mattress. This is true. I guess I wasn't expecting something so affordable, lightweight and warm to be equivalent to my bed at home. I do experience back issues normally and this provided me enough support that I didn't have any issues the next day. I'm also normally cold, but was pleasantly surprised that I was still comfortable even after we didn't put plastic under the tent and had it on a hard, rocky surface. I would purchase this again. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product and so comfortable My favourite mattress so far ! I use this mostly on canoe trips. It's extremely comfortable after a long day of paddling. When we set up camp I just open it up in the tent and let is self inflate then before bed pump it up a little more then shut the valve. Perfect for all seasons, I have also used it winter camping. It the night plans to drop below -10 celcius I will throw a zlite under for extra warmth. Highly recommend this sleeping pad. All round awesome product that isn't very bulky.
