Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great deal on a classic Like ogres and onions, I really like layers. This pad is the layer I bring when it's below freezing or there's snow on the ground. I still use my inflatable pad over it, but the reflective material makes a noticeable difference in terms of heat loss. The only cosmetic issue I can see is that some of the paint had bubbled at some point but doesn't affect use. This pad doesn't roll up very small, even though it's light--for backpacking I would probably recommend the Z-fold version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but... I bought three of these (small) for torso mats. I could find no blemish on any of these. I chose them because I could cut them to fit the space I needed (the dog got the third one). That worked out well. The reflective side adds warmth to the sleeping arrangement and they can be flipped for use in the summer. They add a considerable amount of cushioning from the ground, but many would consider them “hard”. Only con: they don’t roll well for backpacking use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight extra insulation and padding I wanted foam pads for lightweight additional insulation and padding beneath our inflatable sleeping pads for winter camping, and these delivered. Someone advised me that the small (47" x 20") pads were sufficient for this purpose, since it's less critical to have the extra pad below the knees; good advice, as the short pads take up a lot less space. I also ordered large (78" x 25") pads, for complete coverage beneath our similarly large pads when car camping with few enough people per tent to spread out. I'm not sorry I did, but they do take up a lot more room. Anyway, it wasn't that cold (30's F) at this winter's Scout Klondike event, so we were plenty warm; but it wasn't that hard of a test of the product. I recommend keeping the plastic sleeves, as they are great at keeping the pads rolled for storage, with no need for straps or anything!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than sleeping on the ground. I ordered these in for my son and I for use at Boy Scout campout in which the overnight temperature was forecast to hit 25°. They provided a great thermal break and we both remained warm overnight. They are not the most comfortable mat but it beats laying directly on the ground. The blemishes were merely small blister like areas off the foil surface, which did not hinder their use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Lightweight, Pretty Bulky I chose this rather than the easier to carry folding Therm-a-Rest because of the higher R value (2.8). It is quite bulky -- using a strap and rolling tightly, I was just able to squeeze it into the side straps of my pack. I combined it with a Static inflated sleeping pad, but it on its own it seemed reasonably comfortable for what it is (a thin foam pad). I ended up a bit cold in the morning when it got below freezing, but I could tell that was from the inflated pad; had I put the Therm-a-Rest on top, I would have been fine. The nights above freezing were fine. I have no idea what the cosmetic blemish was, but it isn't worth worrying about. All in all, a great purchase if you don't mind the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SoLite is Right! Purchased two sizes, one small and the other large. They compliment my sleeping system for backpacking as well as for road trips with my mini cargo van. Compact, comfortable, and well with the price! No defects or blemishes that I can tell. On the move again on the trails and the highway in style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleeping Pad Therma rest SOlite Got this lightweight foam pad for extra warmth with my inflatable pad in cold weather. Works great lightweight and adds additional protection from ground elements. Also can be used to line your pack and just a seat while hiking. Durable design and have no signs of wear or blemishes. Does take up slightly more room then a fold design but overall glad to have.

Does this item come with straps or a bag to keep it rolled up?

Asked by: john_atl
I apologize for the delay in responding! Unfortunately, the RidgeRest SOLite doesn't come with straps or carry bag - even the non-blemished ones. I would suggest a stuff sack or dry sack - such as the SEATTLE SPORTS DriLite Cover Sack in 20L. I included a link below. I hope this info helps! https://bit.ly/2NFVFSf
