Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have not gone a day without this since i purchased it I moved to the Netherlands a few months ago, knowing I would be commuting an hour each day by foot, train and bicycle. This backpack has been with me every single day. It is perfect for carrying my computer, and extra jacket and pair of shoes, picking up groceries, or to take with me on a weekend trip. On top of that it is basically waterproof, and has kept my computer dry during intense Dutch rainstorms! If there were one or two extra pockets in the main compartment that would have been nice, but with that said, it I lost my backpack tomorrow I would replace it with the same one the next day. I LOVE this backpack.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it I bought the fog colored backpack because it stated it was more water resistant. I haven't even had it for a year and the backpack is peeling all over and my stuff inside my backpack were soaking after a light drizzle. I liked the backpack and i got conpliments for it. The backpack is very spacious and has convenient pockets. But with the peeling it looks like a knock off. Don't waste your time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Form + Function = Perfection This bag is a great solution for EDC when you need a spacious main compartment for gear paired with subtle pockets and options for the little things. I tend to carry a laptop, some paperwork, a water bottle, a snack and 2-3 notebooks of various sizes. Add in my wireless headphones and a few daily exceptions and it can be unwieldy in the wrong bag. The Armory eats it all like a black hole and still fits snugly to the back for staying mobile in tight quarters. I've had this bag for a couple weeks and have already taken it in a few day trips and a weekend of travel. It met and exceeded all my expectations!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but could be much better The bottom part of the bag does not have enough padding to reliably protect electronic equipment, or any fragile objects from drops and falls, and the laptop compartment inside the main compartment would have been better if it was either sewed to the sides instead of the back part of the bag, or have it be able to stretch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bag addict that may have found the cure This is hands down my most favorite bag I have ever owned. I use it as my EDC, my bike commuter, and my weekend bag. It has a very low profile yet is incredibly spacious. I can easily pack my computer (Mac Pro 13"), change of clothes, shoes, travel towel, and toiletries in it for when I bike to work. When not carrying shoes I can get 2-3 days worth of clothes inside for weekend get-a-ways. The storage actually extends above the zipper which is nice for not having to shove those last few things in when it's fully loaded. It is insanely waterproof, not sure about the zippers, you wouldn't want to submerge it, but I have no hesitancy about wearing it through the rain on my way into work. Side pocket easily fits a 32oz Nalgene. Opposite side is great for headphones and GoPro. There isn't a lot of pocket storage but what it does have excels. I did end up buying a small case for cables and random knickknacks that there aren't pockets for - mostly GoPro accessories though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile - good for in- and outdoor activities This one was an impulse buy, and I'm glad I gave in to impulse. It's another one that's good for people with narrow shoulders - I took it snowshoeing, with a down jacket, lunch, water bootle and some other stuff inside, and it never felt overly heavy. I've been carrying it to work with my computer and stacks of papers, and it's heavy, but so compact that the weight doesn't bother as much as I'd expect. It carries much more than I'd expected without being bulky. This bag is very well-designed. There are pen slots in the front, two sleeves inside which are great for holding a computer and a tall folder. I've never been one for bags with lots of pockets and compartments, but the pockets all make sense and are useful in this bag. The attention to detail is impressive. I love that the lid zipper opens toward the back - so smart for security. My only gripe is that that top zipper doesn't always zip smoothly - it catches on the corners a little, and needs two hands. Pretty minor complaint, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite backpack! I was looking for a new bag to replace my 5 years old backpack. I owned a Timbuk2 Medium Classic Messenger Bag before, so I was keen to explore all the backpack options from Timbuk2. I liked how the armory looked rugged yet still formal enough for office. Loved how there's a compartment for everything! My laptop, notebook, pens, flashlight, powerbank, power adaptor, and even water bottle pouch. If fits snugly and didn't feel heavy even when I filled it to the brim. My only issue was that the bag settled rather high up in my back, so when I bent down, It had a tendency to slide down over my head. Also, after walking around town for 2 days, I noticed the left side of the sternum strap had disappeared. It fell off somewhere which was odd since I haven't used them. Overall, it's an excellent backpack, looking forward to another 5 years worth of adventure with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all-around bag with good access to compartments I purchased this with several intentions in mind, for a travelling bag, for taking my laptop and textbooks to school, and at the same time bringing a pair of climbing or running shoes along. This is my 3rd TimBuk2 pack and so far I love it just as much as my others, everything this company makes is both high quality and thought out. I do have the additional insight as a backpack fitter in the outdoor industry so I would like to make some key comments on improving the design of the backpack. Don't let these deter you, I am super happy with the backpack and it works great Thoughts on design -The bottle opener is located at the ideal placement (atleast for me) for the sternum strap. Thankfully they designed it to be removable, which allowed me to move the strap below the bottle opener and this works pretty well, except the sternum strap tends then to slide low on the chest straps -Personally I am not a huge fan of sewn-in elastic bands for carrying water bottles, as that elastic is going to have a shorter lifespan than the rest of the bag, and you can't tension the strap. My last bag (sorry I forget the model) used a piece of elastic cordage with a sliding sinch, which made it useful even after the elastic wore out -The compression straps are kinda useless in most instances, they need to be a inch or two longer and not sewn so far away from the front panel. I would also recommend adding a buckle to the compression straps, so you can run them through a pair of sandals for example -Add more sewn-in organization inside the front panel for notepads and pens and the such. What is there is fine but could be a bit more substantial and have more pockets I know that seemed like a lot of complaints but I really do quite like this bag. I used it for a full day riding around San Francisco on a trip to the city, and since then have used it for a month as my commuter college backpack. Great all around bag I expect to use for years to come
