Amazing product? Yup - this one's in the bag!I decided to take a chance on this when my previous messenger bag was literally busting at the seams. After going for the Large size, I was concerned it would be too big. No such worries, as this amazing companion can fit my coffee thermos, water bottle, laptop, multiple folders, and all of my personal accessories without ANY problems. It's built like a tank, and the adjustment strap makes it a breeze to keep the bag close to the body for bike trips. I've already spilled on it - whoopsie, but no problem. Wiping it down right away was extra easy and it still looks brand new. The $100 price tag is well worth a piece of quality equipment such as this.

Disappointed in Virginia from
Atrocious Customer ServiceI double ordered the bag by accident. I tried several times prior to shippment to cancel the double order. I called, as required for some bizarre reason, in my attempts to cancel. Nobody ever picked up the line. They shipped the double order 3 days after I tried to cancel. So, of course, I had to pay for return shipping for the refund. That was 20 days ago, I still have not received my refund. This was my 3 bag from Timbuk2, they're pretty good bags. Their quality is not outweighed however by their poor service. There are other messenger bag companies, I will not return to Timbuk2 for any other item because of how poor the customer service is.

Great Bag - Strap too shortI have a number of Timbuk2 products from the D-Lux, Classic to iPad sleeves, etc. Most of the improvements and improvements for the 2014 Classic Messenger are great. FINALLY! ears that keep the elements out of the ends of the bag. Love the cordura, it is an improvement over the ballistic nylon. The new buckles with the compression straps look very nice. And now the bad: the strap is way too short. I am only 5'9" and the bag rides almost entirely above my hip. Taking the bag off does mess your hair up. I have the small, and have returned the X-small. The length of the strap is almost a deal killer for me. While the bag is very nice, it does not carry as well as my other Timbuk2 or Rickshaw bags.

Smaller, less practical than older modelWas going to give 2 stars.... giving 1 now because the review pages are so f'd up on here. It's taken me 30 minute to write a review because the submit button never renders properly. I've loved my 10 year old messenger bag and decided to upgrade. Though the 2014 bag is a downgrade -everything is smaller. Main compartment, internal compartments, everything -internal storage is less practical, and small pockets are too tight to hold much of anything. -water bottle holder is too small and too tight. It's a joke. It takes two hands to insert a water bottle. The extra features are well intentioned, but timbuk2 missed the mark

Durable, comfortable, well made But wish Velcro was flippedLove the color, overall design, comfort and durability. One product design recommendation would be to either eliminate the Velcro strips under the flap (and just rely on the straps/plastic snaps) or reverse the Velcro so that the soft fuzzy side is on the bag face and the prickly part is under the flap. Now the prickly side faces out, so if flap is not all the way down I snag my sleeves and/or flank/hip area if I accidentally put the bag on with the flap side facing my body when I'm in a rush. I love the bag, just wish the design could be modified a bit to avoid snagging my clothes.

Love the bag - Not great for Lefties thoughProduct has numerous pockets (though I do wish it included an external water bottle pocket). Feels very secure, and doesn't let anyone rain/wetness in, even in the heaviest of conditions. My one complaint is that this bag seems to be made for right-handed people. I wear my bag on my right shoulder, and when I go to tighten the strap, the mechanism that keeps the strap locked in place at a certain length digs right into my shoulder. I'm trying to adjust to wearing my bag on my left shoulder now, but it would be great if one could detach the straps and switch them depending on how one wears the bad.

Worst customer service everMy bag's waterproofing lining has been breaking after barely 1 month of use. I have gotten customer service to acknowledge that this is a warranty issue however they won't pay for shipping to send it back for repair, or tell me how long it will take them. As this is my every-day bag, I am basically left needing to buy another bag to use while I pay to ship this one to get repaired. Nonsense. This is my second terrible Timbuk2 customer service experience - last time they wanted me to ship a whole suitcase back to them to repair the handle. Luckily I happened to suggest that they send me a replacement part and I fix it. It had not crossed their mind to go about it that way...

That student from
Solid craftsmanshipOverall, great bag. I am a college student and I use this bag for classes and travel. It is just what I was looking for. My stuff fits nicely inside and I don't have the bulky feeling I had with my backpack. I have only had the bag for about 3 months, but it has held up wonderfully to everyday use, stitching and fabric seems very sturdy so far. The only problem I had was that one of the plastic buckles broke, but I took it into the store and the hooked me up no problem. My one wish is that they add straps to cover the Velcro if you do not want to us it, it is a little loud to open in class. I know they do it with other bags, just not this one.
