An inch too high in this re-bootOh No!!! It's a new iteration of the Vasque Breeze AT. Sadly this new re-boot will end my many years of loyal usage. I hike 15+ miles/week and I could always rely on my Vasque's to fit perfectly and be ready for the trails on day 1. Unfortunately, the new model is about an inch higher and seems to create a pressure point on my shins. The foot well is fine but this pressure point is a deal breaker. I am in deep mourning for the loss of my go to Old Faithfuls. Please go back to the old design. New is not always better. :(

I am impressed!I wore these hiking boots in all the conditions of Quebec so far; snow, mud, water, cold and hot... I had a foot completely submerged in water and my sock was completely dry and my foot was never cold (-5 Celsius degrees). They were confy right out of the box. They are very good quality and combined with Merinos whool socks they are perfect. I don't understand the very bad reviews as they absolutely do not hurt my feet. I do understand though that what may fit on may not fit everyone. Try them for yourself!

Good, but old design was better[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these to replace my old Vasque Breeze boots that finally kicked it after a few years. They are warm and waterproof and did great hiking through the snow. I didn’t seem to have as many problems as other users, but they are not as comfortable as the old design, came up a bit too high, and did require breaking in that the old ones did not. I’d still prefer the old design, but I like these boots and think they’ll do great!

Sturdy Responsive Comfort TractionI've worn Vasque Breeze for 6 of my 30 hiking years. I own 6 new pairs so I'll be sure to have them for the rest of my life. They far out perform other boots in breathability for a waterproof boot. They're comfortable right out of the box and extremely durable. I use them in deserts, canyons, mountains, and Up North in my home state of Minnesota in the Superior National Forest and Boundary Waters Canoe Area. A great all around hiking and backpacking boot.

HorribleI bought these a couple months ago after having a great pair of boots for over 10 years. These are so stiff and even after breaking them in before hiking, I developed blisters in my heels. I decided to give them more chances by trying other modalities (athletic tape, insoles, mole skin) and each time, I developed blisters. After developing bursitis on my heel at the site of the blisters, I finally decided it was time to return.

Very rough on heelsDue to a joint repair in my foot, I am always on the lookout for a hiking boot with a stiff sole and big toe box. This boot provides that, and is definitely quite comfy compared to other narrower options. It's very sturdy and definitely waterproof (tried and tested).
However, whenever I hiked on a steep trail my heels would get torn up (more than a typical blister) and take weeks to heal before I could even think of putting these back on. There's a lot of pressure put on the heel on every step -- not just rubbing, but I felt like I had a contusion near the bottom of my achilles. I tried every preventative measure on the market, as well as various methods to prevent heel slipping, but was still met with a lot of pain after 6 months of attempted break-in. It's possible I have the wrong size, but a few other reviews mention a similar issue. I think it comes down to stiffness and design.

What changed?I have worn the last version of this boot successfully in a size 9W, but now the shape of the shoe is longer and no amount of adjustment, changing socks, different inserts, have made it wearable. What happened with the size change? Why is 9W so big now? I'm sad that I can't return it and don't have a comfortable, wide hiking boot when I need one. I was a big Vasque fan but now what?

New design is not goodI love my old Breeze hiking boots, but thought it was time to replace them. I was sorry to see there is a new design and was leery after I read the reviews, but had to try them for myself. The boot itself fits like the old design, but the 1" extra height on the ankle is very uncomfortable. My shins hurt after only an hour hike. Boots are being returned and maybe they will redesign.
