Marmot NanoPro

Marmot NanoPro
Marmot NanoPro is a super comfortable waterproof/breathable membrane. It is dynamically air permeable, which helps shed excess moisture vapor, keeping you dry and happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most breathable rain jacket for summer This is a great summer rain jacket. It is very breathable. It was an upgrade from my precipitation rain jacket. It is not for cold weather warmth. The materials are very stretchy, soft , and comfortable. The Marmot Membrain technology is the best for a warmer weather rain Jacket. It is way more breathable than gore tex.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Similar to other rain jackets I bought this jacket to replace a previous 2.5 layer coat for which I could not revive the durable water repellant (DWR). This coat felt very similar in texture and stretch to my 5 year old previous coat which was not marketed as being a "hybrid soft shell". This rain jacket shed water nicely in the shower test, though I did notice a few pencil eraser-sized wet out spots on the shoulders after just several minutes in the shower. I suppose all DWR is relatively fragile. I am 5'11" and 175 lbs and the large coat I purchased was too big for me, hindering visibility with the hood on. I wanted to love it, but I felt this coat performed the same as any average thin, athletic-oriented raincoat, and since the fit was off I am returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Works Well in all kinds of conditions. I bought my first Marmot water proof jacket in 1980. It was Gore-Tex back then. I still have it and it's proved very durable. This is my third M water proof jacket-I lent my second one to my outdoor oriented son and he has adopted it. I tried another well known brand, and while I liked it, it just did not hold up as well. This jacket is light and very packable. I only wish it were a bit longer, but that would increase the weight and really is a nitpick. The hood works exceptionally well. The jacket is clean cut and functional. It simply works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most breathable Did a lot of research for a rain jacket that could breath good in warm , humid conditions. The nanopro membrain seemed to fit this best. This is even more breathable than the much more expensive gore Tex active shells . Perfect for southern U.S. Hiking and everyday rain jacket. Works well with mid layer for cooler days. This is an upgrade from an old precip jacket. This is more comfortable due to stretchy fabric. Go for the green if you want compliments from friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very lightweight and keeps me dry fits in any bag easily for a "just in case" bit of rain protection. Great fit, lots of good pockets, large pit zips, and fits head well. Also feels more "fabricky" and not as stiff as most. Super into this jacket. I'm normally a medium but small fit great and I'm a 160lb 5'11'' guy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb performance I purchased the Marmot Artemis jacket before a trip to Seattle and later San Francisco, during which it rained nearly every day. The jacket kept me completely dry from the precipitation (which came in all sorts, from a drizzle to heavy rain) and it remained comfortable throughout. The hood is phenomenal--brilliant design--and the fit/cut is great: follow the sizing chart provided by Marmot and you will probably still have room for a medium-light layer or two underneath. The jacket vents and breathes very well and also seems quite durable. Longevity is something I cannot review here since I've been wearing the jacket consistently for only about a month's time. I have read elsewhere that it's important to clean the jacket semi-frequently, but have had no need for that yet. Overall, I'm very grateful for an excellently-designed product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice jacket This is nice. I live on the Gulf coast of Alabama and we get massive amounts of rain. This jacket will keep you dry in very heavy rain, and allows moisture to vent quickly. This jacket replaced an old Marmot and a Lowe Alpine triple point ceramic. Great product but buy one size larger. I'm 5'10" 190 lbs and needed an XL. Marmot handled the return quickly btw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket I am on the border between large and extra large so went with the extra large which was a good choice so I have some room for a sweatshirt or middleweight layer underneath. The jacket arrived on a rainy day so after trying it on and removing the tags, I went for a 5 mile walk. While walking I could easily adjust the hood and access the pockets and vents. The hood is great, adjusts to perfectly fit whether on just your head or over a climbing helmet. The jacket blocks most of the wind and all of the rain. Most importantly, I didn't get sweaty or damp from trapped moisture. I bought the jacket for a 3 week trip to the tropics during the La Nina rain season and wow was that some rain! I stayed dry whether is was sprinkling or about to wash me away. The jacket doesn't make crinkling noises and is compact enough that you don't mind carrying it around between showers. The jacket still looks good and I am hoping it will last a long while.
