DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Patagonia H2No Performance Standard

Patagonia H2No Performance Standard
H2No Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable. They are put through rigorous tests to achieve the H2No status, so you can rest assured that they'll keep you dry and comfortable in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I wore this thing almost every day last year - while I lived in Uganda. The arm zips kept me cool on humid, multi-kilometer walks during the torrential downpours. I often wore it over my daypack to keep my laptop dry - never had a single problem with its functionality. It was the one item I always kept in my backpack just in case the rains broke out during wet-season. Unfortunately, I left it in the back of a rented motor cycle while I was traveling through India - its been a top priority to get back & I'm glad I have. It is an excellent buy, well worth the price for any of you on the edge. There are few things as serene as walking in the rain, hearing the drops clatter over your head without the bother of getting wet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent rain jacket I bought this jacket when I was studying abroad in London. It is perfect for layering or wearing on its own. The fact that it is breathable is key. It also keeps you very dry with adjustable sleeves and a stand-up collar. Excellent quality. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I bought this coat for my trip to Iceland. And I could not have been more happy with it, it held up to the rain and wind with flying colors. The pit zips were really great for ventilation as well. It also packs up in the front left pocket which made it easy to pack and it was verry light weight. I was worried about getting the XL because sometimes the sleeves are too short, but this coat fit perfectly. (I'm 6"2) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great - but not for extreme weather This is a great looking rain jacket that performs only average in the rain. Definitely not meant to be a super technical piece. It can handle the straps of a 25-35L Daypack, but anything beyond that and you will begin to see the wear/tear on the shoulders/pits. It's also able to be tightened in the neck area, but don't count on anything you leave in the mesh pockets staying dry in a downpour. Before you start looking at other rain jackets, here are some positives. The detailed pulls on the zippers really pop off the jacket, so it always looks great. This jacket will definitely serve you well on a cooler summer/spring night with winds and overcast. If you decide to keep it folded in its own pocket all day and then bring it out at night, be warned, it holds on to that crumpled, just woke up look until you get a chance to lay it flat and press out the wrinkles with your hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great jacket to keep dry, at a great value. It is an awesome jacket, looks great, breathes well. I like the fact that it packs into itself which makes it easy to carry on campus in my pack, or keep on hand out fishing the flats where the weather can change very quickly. It fits in my cargo shorts pocket with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent jacket, highly recommend! I bought this jacket for my boyfriend and he loved it! It's well designed and nicely fitted. Its just as good a windbreaker as it is a rainjacket. Can't wait to get one for myself! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
