Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome all-around midlayer and light jacket This jacket is the best. I use it for cycling in cold weather, where the windproof chest is great, and the breathable arms and back is even better. The back also goes down lower so it covers my back when I'm on my road bike. I also use it for outdoor climbing, hiking, and backpacking. It works great on its own in the spring and fall and is an excellent layering piece in the winter, because more than anything, it BREATHES. It's also very stylish in my opinion, it makes me look like I have a good figure by somehow hiding my love handles (kidding)! The pockets are great, and the overall design is sleek and modern, I just love it. I only wish they'd make a Black/ Green combo, especially for the new hoody version, which I will definitely buy once there are some better color choices! (Though the bright yellow would be great for visibility)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile mid-layer The wool part of the jacket is kind of thin, almost a base-layer, so don't think of this as a "jacket", think "extra base-layer + half a vest." Wind cuts through the wool, so this is probably best for bikers with a windproof shell or runners in 30-40 degree temps. That said, it is VERY comfortable, almost like wearing a sweater, so if you layer it right you can have a great time outdoors. I am short with broad shoulders and often have a hard time fitting activewear, but the medium fits nice. The zipper sticks on the older models, hope they've fixed this on the newer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Beautiful and Functional The temperature range this jacket/mid-layer delivers performance in is staggering.. On a recent back-packing trip to the Sierra Nevadas I'd have it on for multiple days straight! Wouldn't even take it off to sleep. Whether it was in the heat of noon or sub-freezing nights this jacket kept me at a stable temperature, managed sweat, and was odor-free for the duration of the trip. Not to mention it was incredibly comfortable to wear! I'm 6'2", with a 39" chest, and ordered a medium. The fit is very snug, almost more so then Smartwool's PHD baselayer shirts. Other than minor pilling on the sleeves its holding up well to three months of almost daily wear. There's no obvious shrinkage after numerous washing. All in all, this jacket is an outstanding light-weight outer-layer for mild-cool weather and an incredibly comfortable mid-layer when the mercury drops. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best clothing item I own I own tons of great gear, I am a lifelong outdoors-man, an ironman and a trail runner. This is my best purchase ever. Was not sure about purchasing this, but since it arrived I have not taken it off except to sleep. It is simply amazing, so warm, so comfortable, and looks sharp as well. It does seem to be a bit big, I got a M as with all my gear and it is comfortable but a loose fitting, fits great for everyday and has been fine for running, but I may get a small for cycling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I bought this jacket as an all purpose top and I use it for ALL purposes. There are days that I run in cool weather with it, other days I wear it to work. I look forward to cooler days so I can start wearing this jacket. It breaths like no other piece of cloths I own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Product This jacket makes a great mid-weight base layer for heavy activity in cold weather. It has the perfect amount of insulation in the right places to keep you warm without overheating. I have been wearing it with a lightweight merino base layer and a softshell jacket and it has served its purpose well for ice climbing, alpine skiing, and snow shoeing so far this winter. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light jacket This is an amazingly well made light jacket. I wear it just to go out and also for running. It fits really well and seems to be made very solidly. I was expecting this jacket to be a bit warmer. Wearing it with nothing but a t-shirt on underneath, it will keep me warm down to about 50 degrees F. Below that my arms tend to get cold, even when I wear this running. I am skinny with very long arms so when I use the thumb holes, which I love, I feel like I am stretching out the sleeves. Overall this is a great jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect mid-layer I've worn it skiing. And I've been wearing it around the city a lot. This thing is perfect. Find it hard to take it off. Prob need another one. It is lite and it is warm. Gives that extra layer in winter that makes you comfortable.
